Turmeric is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger
family, Zingiberaceae. The dried powdered spice comes from the root
(rhizome) portion of the plant Curcuma longa. Turmeric root has a very
interesting taste and aroma. Its flavor is peppery, warm, and bitter
while its fragrance is mild yet slightly reminiscent of orange and
ginger.
Turmeric is native to India and Southeast Asia. In addition to its
culinary use, turmeric has remained a mainstay herb in botanical
medicine, with medical usage going back thousands of years in the
Ayurvedic tradition. Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world’s oldest
holistic (whole-body) healing systems. It was developed thousands of
years ago in India. It is based on the belief that health and wellness
depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit.

Directions for use
Golden Latte – Use 1 teaspoon of Golden Blend per
serve. Add 3 teaspoons of hot water and mix to make a paste with the
powder. Add heated milk and stir. We reccomend almond milk frothed café
style. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and add honey to sweeten. Get creative!
It is the perfect superfood boost to smoothies, porridge and cereals,
cakes, bread, curries, marrinages, roasted vegetables and nuts.
